An old suite at Green Valley Ranch that hadn’t been rented out for nearly a decade was recently brought back to life, offering sweeping views of the Strip and amenities like a private bar and outdoor terrace kitchen.

The one-bedroom Presidential Suite features dark wood floors, high ceilings, contemporary art pieces and an integrated music system with surround sound. It also has a $20,000, Italian-made glass foosball table, and a hotel butler is on call around the clock.

The suite’s showcase feature, though, is probably its views of the Strip and the surrounding mountains. The terrace, which is about 1,650 square feet — larger than some houses — serves as an outdoor living room and has a kitchen with a massive grill, sink and refrigerator.

“Guests love the view,” said Vinny Barile, the Henderson resort’s vice president and general manager. “Because it wasn’t being rented, we used to watch New Year’s and Fourth of July fireworks here. Now, every holiday is booked, so we won’t be able to do that.”

The 2,750-square-foot suite is on the fourth floor of the resort’s east tower.

“It was a suite a long time ago, but hadn’t been rented out for close to 10 years,” Barile said. “We touched-up the floors, brought in all new furniture, put new carpeting in and brought in the foosball table. It didn’t take much because it was already nice.”

The resort also recently turned its old wedding chapel into a 2,000-square-foot guest suite with a wet bar, baby grand piano and hot tub. Like the Presidential Suite, the Strip Suite’s terrace offers views of the Las Vegas skyline. Rates for both suites start at $2,000 a night.

“The idea, because the majority of our weddings take place in our piazza, was to add another large suite for our higher-end clientele,” Barile said. “The response has been really good. This is the next step up from a villa and we only have three villas.”

Station Casinos, which owns Green Valley Ranch, has also been busy with a multimillion-dollar room remodeling project at Red Rock Resort in Summerlin. The resort is redoing 770 of its 795 rooms. Work started in August and is nearly finished.

“This was an opportunity to brighten up our room product,” said Scott Nelson, the resort’s vice president and general manager.

Red Rock is replacing a darker color palette with lighter tones that give the rooms “a wow factor, Nelson said. “People want that modern, contemporary look and feel.”

“We have a lot of repeat visitors here, and we’ve gotten nothing but phenomenal feedback as we’ve launched the new product,” he said.
