Frontier Airlines to begin nonstop flights between Las Vegas, Kansas City

Discount air carrier Frontier Airlines will begin nonstop flights six times a week between Las Vegas and Kansas City, Mo., beginning Nov. 1.

A subsidiary of Indianapolis-based Republic Airways Holdings Inc., Frontier is beefing up its Kansas City hub operation with new flights to McCarran International Airport and to Houston’s Hobby Airport.

Frontier will use a twin-engine 99-passenger Embraer E190 jets on the route. Flights will operate every day except Saturday and leave Kansas City International Airport at 5:50 p.m., Central time, arriving in Las Vegas at 6:50 p.m., Pacific time. The return trip leaves McCarran at 7:20 p.m., arriving in Kansas City at midnight.

Frontier is introducing the service with $89 one-way tickets.

The service will complete with Southwest Airlines, which currently offers four nonstop round trips a day between Las Vegas and Kansas City.

Frontier currently operates at McCarran with six daily round trips between Las Vegas and Denver and one daily round trip to and from Milwaukee, Wis.
