Multimillionaire publisher and former GOP presidential candidate Steve Forbes is coming to Las Vegas next week to talk about politics and the economy.
Forbes will speak at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at UNLV as part of the university’s Barrick Lecture Series. His speech is titled “The U.S. Economy, the 2012 Elections and Beyond.”
Forbes is chairman and editor-in-chief of Forbes Media, which publishes numerous business and politics magazines and websites. In 1996 and 2000, Forbes ran unsuccessfully for the Republican presidential nomination, advocating for a free-market economy, flat tax and revamped Social Security system.
This year, Forbes endorsed Texas Gov. Rick Perry for president. Perry later suspended his campaign, and Forbes now says he thinks former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney will win the race. He also said an Obama victory would lead to another recession.
The public is invited to hear Forbes speak, but tickets are limited to two per person. They are free and available now at the UNLV Performing Arts Center box office off Cottage Grove Avenue and South Maryland Parkway.
