For the past several days, construction crews have been dismantling the scaffolding braided around two support columns of the planned SkyVue observation wheel.
But that doesn’t mean the project is dead, according to developers of the 500-foot-tall Ferris wheel planted in a dusty lot across from Mandalay Bay.
“We continue to work on Skyvue, however, we have no news to report at this time,” David Gaffin, a Skyvue developer, wrote in an email. “The scaffolding is not needed at this time.”
Work on the wheel has been stalled since October 2012. It’s unclear when crews will start construction again.
Gaffin said she would contact the press with any announcements.
