Gorman baseball profiled on ESPN.com

Bishop Gorman's baseball team has made national news — again. The three-time defending state champion Gaels were featured Thursday in the Rise section of ESPN.com. The section is designed to bring attention to high school athletes. Gorman, which opened the season ranked No. 1 nationally by multiple polls, is two wins away from capturing another state title. Of course, they are lucky to still be playing — a point mentioned in the article. Gorman (38-4) lost 10-2 to Cimarron-Memorial in the Sunset Regional championship game last week and only qualified for the state tournament by beating Las Vegas High in a play-in game. The tournament site rotates annually between Southern and Northern Nevada, and if this year's event was being held in Reno instead of at the College of Southern Nevada, Gorman's season would have been over. But they are two wins away from another championship, and with only Northern Nevada's Douglas High and Cimarron left in the event, title No. 4 is all but guaranteed for Saturday.
