M Resort

The M Resort is continuing to update its dining options.

After welcoming its latest restaurant earlier this month, the resort said goodbye to a popular dining spot that will be replaced by a 24-hour eatery in 2014.

Elsewhere, a national buffet chain entered the area, and a Las Vegas-based doughnut shop opened its second location.

    • Golden Corral

Golden Corral Buffet and Grill opened Dec. 19 at 1455 S. Lamb Blvd. in Las Vegas with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The all-you-can-eat restaurant serves a bevy of food options, including fried chicken, pizza and a salad bar featuring more than 50 types of toppings.

Golden Corral also serves cooked-to-order steaks during its dinner service, which begins at 4 p.m. daily.

The eatery employs 200 workers and is one of 496 Golden Corral restaurants nationwide.

Golden Corral is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

    • A maple bar topped with bacon at Pink Box Doughnuts in Henderson.

PinkBox Doughnuts opened in Town Square next to Tommy Bahama on Dec. 12.

It is PinkBox’s second Las Vegas location; the other is at 7531 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

The doughnut shop offers 35 types of doughnuts per day, including its maple bacon bar and classics such as the original glazed doughnut.

A classic dozen cost $8.50, and a gourmet dozen is $12.50.

      PinkBox is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday.

    • Jalisco Cantina's chile verde burrito.

      Jalisco Cantina

Jalisco Cantina opened two locations in December at 3460 E. Sunset Road and at 6450 S. Durango Road — both in Las Vegas.

The restaurants are in what used to be Super Mex eateries, which owners Natasha and Ross Williams previously operated. The duo broke from the California-based chain to forge their own brand.

Jalisco Cantina serves food inspired by the Jalisco region of Mexico and serves more than 100 varieties of tequila.

Both Jalisco Cantinas are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

      Hash House a Go Go

The popular restaurant at the M Resort closed Dec. 24 and is heading to the Rio in February, when it will take over the space occupied by the Sao Paulo Café.

“Hash House a Go Go has had great long-term relationships with Caesars Entertainment, and when the Rio opportunity came along, we felt the size of the hotel and the strong local following was a better mix for our concept,” said Jim Rees, chief operating officer and partner with Hash House a Go Go restaurants.

A replacement has already been planned for the eatery’s departure. The 24-hour M Café is set to take over the spot vacated by Hash House in March.
