Las Vegas-based casino industry supplier sues former exec

Las Vegas-based casino industry supplier Gaming Partners International has sued a former sales executive, accusing him of misappropriation of its trade secrets.

GPI filed suit last week in Clark County District Court against Justin Woodard, who had been serving as vice president of global sales operations. He left the company in June.

"Woodard continues to, among other things, directly compete with and solicit customers of GPI using proprietary and confidential information he obtained solely from GPI" in violation of company policy and Nevada law, the suit says.

The suit seeks unspecified actual and punitive damages.

It asks for an injunction preventing Woodard from retaining or using confidential GPI information or from contacting prior, current or prospective clients or customers of GPI while the suit is pending.

Woodard said Monday he was unaware of the lawsuit and had no other immediate comment.

He is now president of a company called Genesis Interactive Technologies, according to his Linkedin profile.

Gaming Partners sells products like casino chips, dice, cards and gaming furniture and accessories. The publicly traded company had revenue of $13 million in the second quarter ended June 30.
