    • The Nevada Association of Realtors has installed new officers for 2013, led by incoming president Patty Kelley, of Las Vegas. Other officers include: Kolleen Kelley, of Las Vegas, president-elect; Kevin Sigstad, of Reno, treasurer; and Blane Johnson, of Incline Village, immediate past president. Kolleen Kelley (no relation to Patty Kelley) is completing her one-year term as president of the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors, while Sigstad is doing the same for the Reno Sparks Association of Realtors. Patty Kelley owns Kelley and Associates Real Estate with her husband, Keith. She has been a Realtor in California and Nevada for more than 34 years.

      Howard B. Levy, director of technical services at the CPA firm of Piercy Bowler Taylor & Kern, has been appointed to the Smaller Firm Task Force of the AICPA’s Center for Audit Quality. The task force provides a forum for smaller accounting firms to express their views and concerns, deliberate issues and identify technical and regulatory matters involving audits of SEC registrants by smaller firms.

      Linda Rheinberger, owner of One Source Realty and Management, was nominated to serve on the board of directors for the National Association of Realtors as a vice president-elect representing the Rocky Mountain region. When confirmed by NAR, she will serve as Region XI vice president in 2015 representing Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

    • The Sunrise Health System, comprised of Sunrise Hospital, MountainView Hospital, Southern Hills Hospital and Sunrise Children’s Hospital, had several employees receive awards at the recent 30th annual March of Dimes “Nurse of the Year” event. Each year, more than 2,000 nurses are nominated by their peers and patients. First-place honorees were Kimball S. Anderson, CEO of Southern Hills Hospital – Nurses’ Choice/Administration; Riann Garbett, a social worker at Sunrise Children’s Hospital – Nurses’ Choice/Support Staff; and Marie Payne, an RN at Sunrise Children’s Hospital – Pediatric Nursing. Second-place honorees were: Katie Bruels, an RN and Emergency Department manager at Sunrise Hospital – Nursing Administration/Management; Bonnie Crane, an RN at Sunrise Children’s Hospital – Education; Suzette “Gay” Gustafson, an RN at MountainView Hospital – Oncology Nursing; Amanda Long, an RN at Sunrise Children’s Hospital – Pediatric Nursing; and Zuzana Macis, an RN at Southern Hills Hospital – General/Medical/Surgical.

    • The Desert Research Institute has collaborated with the Caesars Foundation to create a three-year program focused on the sustainability of the Lake Tahoe basin. The new Caesars Foundation Fellowship in Watersheds and Environmental Sustainability has been awarded to Angela Stevens, a graduate research assistant at DRI and a hydrology student at UNR. The award provides $48,750 in funding, matched by DRI’s Division of Hydrologic Sciences.

    • SK+G Advertising has been selected by Allegiant Travel Company to provide media planning and buying for all of the markets serviced by the company.
