For $500 or more, you can take a helicopter to the Electric Daisy Carnival

A Maverick helicopter flies over the Las Vegas Strip.

You can ride a shuttle bus to and from the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Electric Daisy Carnival for $30 on Friday and Sunday or $40 on Saturday.

Taking a taxi costs between $50 and $60 one way, depending on where the ride starts.

A local limo company offers a round trip for six in a Denali SUV for $300.

Then there’s the ultimate VIP ride to the event — via helicopter.

Maverick Helicopters, a division of the Las Vegas-based Maverick Aviation Group, is offering “a quick and stylish way to arrive and depart from the festival grounds” for the three-day electronic music event scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Using the company’s Eco-Star helicopters with wrap-around glass, Maverick is offering private charter packages starting at $3,000 for up to seven people. Individual seats cost $500 one way or $800 round trip.

A regular flight above the Strip costs $114 per person.

“Fans who choose to travel by helicopter will have an experience they will never forget,” Bryan Kroten, Maverick’s vice president of marketing, said of the 15- to 18-minute flights.

Kroten said Maverick flew charters to last year’s festival.

“Three days before the event, we didn’t have a single reservation, but we finished strong,” Kroten said. “This year, we have a lot of repeat business, and it’s exponentially better than last year.”

The company would not say how many passengers it expects to fly or how much money it anticipates making.

Kroten said most of the company’s customers are high-end carnival fans, celebrities and performing artists.

Maverick also offers helicopter charters to the speedway for the March NASCAR race.

Flights depart and arrive from Maverick’s McCarran International Airport terminal on the west side of the airport, near Mandalay Bay.

An estimated 115,000 people are expected to attend the dusk-to-dawn electronic music festival each night.

  1. The best part of EDC is the people.
Don't be a elitist sucka, take the bus.

  2. Maverick is always way over-priced. EDC pricing is downright insane.

    Takes advantage of foreigners mostly.

  3. Thats a cool way to ride to the event. Seems pricey but you will also get a great view of the valley. Hope everyone has fun this weekend and stays safe.
