About 42.5 million visitors came to Las Vegas in 2019, an increase of about 400,000 visitors from 2018, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported today.

Las Vegas saw an increase of more than 2% for convention and meeting attendees last year when a record 6.6 million people visited to attend a convention, according to the authority’s findings.

With a number of high-profile new venues scheduled to open this year — Allegiant Stadium, Resorts World and Caesars Forum — on or near the Strip, it’s expected that visitation numbers will likely increase again in 2020.

Las Vegas in April will also host the 2020 NFL Draft, which is expected draw a daily crowd of 350,000 for the three-day event.

Tourism generates about $58 billion annually in the Las Vegas Valley and supports 370,000 local jobs, the visitors authority said.
