    • The fourth annual Toys for Tots Celebrity Benefit variety show raised $166,000 in toy and cash donations for Las Vegas children and their families. The Dec. 1 show was sponsored by Cadillac of Las Vegas and featured performers including Louie Anderson, Gordie Brown, Frankie Moreno, Steve Rossi and Pia Zadora. Chris Phillips, from Zowie Bowie, served as host. The show, held at the LVH Las Vegas Hotel Theater, drew 1,700 people.

    • Dr. Troy Watson, an orthopedic surgeon, partnered with Soles4Souls to provide shoes for hundreds of people at the Salvation Army’s Lied Social Services Campus on West Owens Avenue. For the second year, Zappos joined in the effort, donating new shoes for each recipient. Watson and volunteers measured recipients’ feet and fit them with shoes.

    • More than 125 people celebrated Globe Salon’s 12th anniversary with “Fashion Fling III: Down the Rabbit Hole,” a charity mixer that raised more than $15,000 for LV ArtReach. Globe Salon transformed artist Tim Bavington’s downtown studio into an Alice in Wonderland-themed venue, complete with a “Through the Looking Glass” card deck and “rabbit hole” runway.

    • More than 3,900 pounds of food was collected during the 14th annual food drive at the Summerlin Smith’s, 2211 N. Rampart Blvd. Philanthropist Mary Vail hosted the drive to benefit the Las Vegas Chapter Salvation Army Food Bank.

    • Todd Moody, a partner at Hutchison & Steffen, participated in National Adoption Day with associates Shannon R. Wilson and Richard L. Wade. With the Clark County Department of Family Services, the team helped 43 children with special needs find homes with 27 families. A total of 67 children were adopted in Las Vegas that day.

    • The second annual Brady Caipa Soccer Tournament, organized by Bishop Gorman High School alumni, raised $700 for Project 150, which helps homeless and displaced students at 15 high schools in Southern Nevada. The tournament is a tribute to Brady Caipa, a Gorman student with a passion for helping the homeless who passed away in 2011. Project 150 also raised more than $16,000 at its one-year anniversary fundraiser. Money raised pays for food, clothing and supplies for students.
