A medical website that lets patients find doctors and book appointments has expanded to the Las Vegas Valley.

ZocDoc launched this week to help patients find local primary care doctors, obstetrician-gynecologists and eye doctors. The next groups to be added will be dermatologists and dentists, founder and CEO Cyrus Massoumi said.

ZocDoc’s website and mobile app are free for patients, but doctors must pay $250-$300 a month to be listed. Massoumi declined to say how many doctors in Las Vegas have signed up for the site.

Patients can search by a doctor’s location, insurance networks or specialty. They also can see a doctor’s availability and take open slots.

Massoumi said Las Vegas has some of the highest wait times in the country to see doctors, sometimes lasting as long as six months. According to ZocDoc, the typical patient who uses the site sees a doctor in 24 to 72 hours.

Founded in 2007, ZocDoc is available in 32 other U.S. metro markets, including Phoenix, Chicago and Miami. The New York-based company has raised $95 million in investor capital and has more than 300 employees. About 100 of the workers were hired over the past six months, Massoumi said.
