Electric carmaker Tesla is charging up the valley with a new Las Vegas showroom.

The California-based manufacturer, which has battery factory in Northern Nevada, unveiled its new 26,000 square-foot dealership Friday on Sahara Avenue.

The facility is twice as big as Tesla’s existing Las Vegas showroom on Badura Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and the 215 Beltway.

In addition to Tesla vehicles, the showroom will display the company’s energy products. Test drives of vehicles are available by appointment.

Tesla will continue to occupy the Badura location and plans to use the space for something else.

Las Vegas residents have access to two Tesla supercharger stations in Las Vegas — one at Town Square mall off Las Vegas Boulevard and one in a downtown parking garage under an office complex at Bridger Avenue and 8th Street.

Tesla has a network of superchargers across the state, placed along main highways for quick charging during long-distance travel. Tesla designed the network to make owning an electric Tesla more convenient.
