Griffin-Silva, Penn-Florian to highlight UFC 101

Sources have confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that former light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin will take on Thiago Silva at UFC 101 in Philadelphia in early August. The event will be the UFC's first promotion in Pennsylvania.

The bout will be the first for Griffin since he lost the 205-pound title to Rashad Evans at UFC 92 in December, and also the first time Silva returns to the Octagon since suffering his first career loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 94 on Jan. 31 at the MGM Grand.

The Griffin and Silva fight will be the warm up for a main event between lightweight champion, B.J. Penn, defending his title against top contender, Kenny Florian. MMAWeekly is also reporting that a recent post on Penn's official site states that Florian already has signed the contract and Penn was going to on Friday.

"I look forward to the challenge," Penn said.
