Marilyn Monroe. Jayne Mansfield. Kelly Monaco. Jenny McCarthy. Pamela Anderson. Holly Madison.
Sarah Palin?
Yes. Sara Palin, conceptually if not actually, one day may be on the list of famous/infamous women to have posed for Playboy magazine.
During a quick-and-dirty Q&A just off the red carpet at Thursday night's premiere of October Playmate Claire Sinclair as the guest star in "Crazy Horse Paris" at MGM, I asked Hefner if he ever would consider the former Alaska governor and nakedly ambitious teabagger as a model for his iconic magazine.
"Ha-ha!" he answered. "I wouldn't turn her down, I'll tell you that." Then he paused and said, "It would sell a couple of issues."
Well, there is no doubt about that. I seem to remember the same argument made when he put Jessica Hahn on the cover ...
More from the show
Sinclair's appearance in "Crazy Horse" is the latest instance where a Playboy model has vaulted to the Strip stage. Carmen Electra and Pam Anderson were in the show, too (and Anderson was also the shapely, and sometimes bemused, guest star in Hans Klok's magic jamboree at Planet Hollywood), and of course Holly Madison has been starring in Peepshow since June 2009. "It's always very, very satisfying, and there is a history of Playmates using that exposure as a springboard to movies, television and performing in Vegas," he said. ... Hefner looked great, and at age 84 and is still Captain of the Scene. He went off to the Playboy Club at the Palms after the show, joined by his girlfriend, Crystal Harris. Hefner's son Martson is dating Sinclair. The two met at a party at Playboy Mansion, where dreams really do come true. ... The most inspired of the three new pieces in the show, all added for Sinclair, is "Upside Down," a smartly staged and choreographed number with Sinclair and two "Crazy Horse" regulars performing atop, below and around mirrored panels. ... As the featured act, the Scott Brothers are still great fun to watch, but "Micro Jackson," funny in its infancy, screams "played out." Time to update that bit, methinks. ... Hustling from the red carpet toward the theater before the show Sinclair was tracked by autograph seekers in the same manner in which Madison is pursued during her traipses through Vegas events. I noted that the scene did remind of one of Madison's appearances, and Sinclair said, "It would be awesome to reach that level. I hope I can be in that position one day." ... Sinclair's appearance in the show ends Oct. 28.
