Describe your business.

Locally owned and operated, Learning Express Toys provides children with toys, books and games that spark curiosity and inspire imagination.

Who are your customers?

All ages. We have toys from birth to adult. We like to think we appeal to the young and the young at heart.

What makes your business unique?

We provide exceptional customer service and a unique blend of products that provide children with toys that are fun, educational and inspire growth through play. We also offer free gift wrapping and personalization.

What is your business philosophy?

We want to provide the customer with a shopping experience that is memorable. We have many demos and love showing customers how things work. We want you to try out the toys before you buy them.

It’s a very play-friendly, hands-on atmosphere.

What’s the most important part of your job?

I love matching children to the right toy. Listening to parents talk about their kids and finding just the right thing for their child is rewarding.

What is the hardest part about doing business in Las Vegas?

Knowing what products to carry in the store. We have a mix of tourists and locals, so we need to balance the product mix so we meet everyone’s needs.

What is the best part about doing business in Las Vegas?

Meeting people from all over the world. I love talking to the customers and finding out where they are from.

I just wish I spoke more languages.

How can Nevada improve its business climate?

Streamline the business licensing process. There were so many different applications and departments. None of them communicate with the other. We need to simplify the process.
