Polaroid hits the Linq; Moon says good night

Consumer electronics company Polaroid is offering a snapshot of the company’s past.

Polaroid Fotobar, now open at the Linq, allows customers to print their photos and create customized artwork. The location will also include a museum devoted to the company’s history.

Also at the Linq, Blvd. Cocktail Company offers a piano bar setting. Meanwhile, a famous bakery sets up shop at the Venetian, the Palms says farewell to a nightclub and a new pizza joint hits the Monte Carlo.

      Polaroid Fotobar opened March 31 at the Linq.

      The 4,000-square-foot location offers photo printing services as well as personalized products including wall art. The store is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday through Saturday.

      The space’s second level will host the Polaroid Museum, which will display works by Andy Warhol, Lucas Michael and other artists.

      The museum, which opens April 17, also will feature a mobile photography installation composed of pictures from photo-sharing site Instagram and a Polaroid camera weighing more than 230 pounds.

    • Moon Nightclub

      The Palms announced the closure of Moon Nightclub last week.

      The penthouse club, located at the top of the Palms Fantasy Tower, became known for its retractable roof and views of the city.

      Though the nightclub has officially shut down, it will still play host to some special events until a new concept comes about.

    • Carlo’s Bakery

      Carlo’s Bakery opened March 31 in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian.

      The shop, an offshoot of the famed bakery where TV’s “Cake Boss” takes place, offers cakes, pastries and plenty of memorabilia.

      Carlo’s Bakery is open from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

    • 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria

      Los Angeles-based chain 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria opened a new location Friday at the Monte Carlo.

      The brand is known for its 800 degree, wood-fueled ovens that can cook a personal pizza in 60 to 90 seconds. The new location along the Boulevard at the Monte Carlo is part of a lineup of restaurant openings in the area.

      Open daily, 800 Degrees serves up quick meals from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

    • BLVD. Cocktail Company

      Blvd. Cocktail Company

      Cocktail lounge and patio Blvd. Cocktail Company held its soft opening at the Linq earlier this month.

      The 2,700-square-foot location offers a piano bar setting and a drinks menu including more than 20 cocktails and martinis.

      The décor highlights works by local and nationally renowned artists and features a “cloud” piece composed of 11,000 LED lights.
