The nation’s largest and oldest provider of art supplies finds a new home in Las Vegas with a grand opening planned for Thursday. The Illinois-based store will offer products suitable for a variety of artists — from children to gallery-represented professionals. Aiming for competitive prices and superior customer service, Blick says it strives to make itself the only stop for art enthusiasts.

Pressed Juicery
Fresh, nutritious juice is now available at the Aria with the Aug. 20 opening of Pressed Juicery. Customers can choose from a variety of cold-pressed concoctions such as water, lemon and mint or almond, dates, sea salt and vanilla bean. All juices are meant to help fulfill a life of health and wellness.

The Cupcakery
A third location of the cupcake-centric bakery has opened up on the east side of the valley. Serving the Strip, UNLV and central Las Vegas, the 1,200-square-foot bakery will feature cafe seating, free Wi-Fi for customers and a wide selection of cupcakes, including the award-winning Southern Belle — a moist, red velvet cake covered with cream cheese frosting. The location will also take orders for custom cakes.

The Community Tool Chest
The valley welcomed this community woodshop earlier this summer. The 6,600-square-foot business, complete with a warehouse and office and classroom space, offers professional woodworking tools and equipment that are available for use by the public. In addition to offering classes such as woodworking and stained glass, the woodshop also allows community members access to build and work on their projects.

Las Vegas Club
One of the city’s oldest casinos — which had a hotel that closed in 2013 — shut its doors last week after being sold to Derek and Greg Stevens, the owners of The D. The property, which opened in 1930, was one of the first to install a neon sign, which it did a year after opening.
