Bitcoin IRA’s new chief operating officer, Rick Synrod, joined the digital asset IRA technology platform after previously serving as Fidelity’s COO and head of operations for the company’s digital asset investment division. He spent 15 years at Fidelity and brings a wealth of experience across the financial services realm, with substantial involvement in the company’s traditional asset management businesses, most notably where he created, launched and led its digital asset investment operations and management team.

Eighty-six attorneys from Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck were selected by their peers for inclusion in the 2023 edition of Best Lawyers in America. Three attorneys received “Lawyer of the Year” recognition, including Albert Kovacs for business organizations (including LLCs and partnerships). Other attorneys from the Las Vegas office who were recognized included Peter Ajemian, David Arrajj, Andrew Brignone, Adam Bult, Frank Flansburg III, Erin Grolle, Mitchell Langberg, Kirk Lenhard, Bryce Loveland, Rebecca Miltenberger, Angela Turriciano Otto, Patrick Reilly, Frank Schreck, Ellen Schulhofer, Adam Segal, Jamie Thalgott and Sonia Church Vermeys.

Brian Burton, president and CEO of Three Square Food Bank, will leave his position September 30. A steady fixture in the Southern Nevada nonprofit community and leader at Three Square for 11 years, Burton plans to continue his work battling food insecurity in his home state at the Arkansas Foodbank.

Matter Real Estate Group announced the addition of Kaytlin Knudson as development construction manager. With nearly a decade of experience in industrial and commercial project management with a strong focus in real estate development, Knudson will be responsible for managing the construction of properties, including UnCommons, the company’s new $400 million urban campus in southwest Las Vegas. Knudson previously worked as project manager at Compass Development.

Jesse Oakley III has been elected to the board of directors of Toastmasters International, which is devoted to communication and leadership skills development. Oakley works with the board to develop and support the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters in fulfilling its mission. He is an associate engineer at the Nevada Department of Transportation, where he has worked for 22 years. He supervises associate engineers and engineering technicians, prioritizes daily workloads, delegates and directs activities to assigned staff, leads trainings, evaluates employees, and performs field inspections for all staff and employees.

Robin Joyce, who ran an advertising and public relations agency for 25 years and served most recently as director of advancement at Faith Lutheran Middle School and High School for nearly seven years, has joined Olive Crest Nevada as senior development director. She will be responsible for fundraising for the Las Vegas branch and will help direct Olive Crest Nevada’s capital campaign.

Sarah Quigley has joined the UNLV University Libraries as director of Special Collections & Archives. She brings 16 years of archives experience, and most recently served as head of collection processing at the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library at Emory University.

LaPour, a commercial real estate development and investment company, announced the addition of Kyle Walker as its first vice president of construction. He has nearly two decades of experience in commercial construction.

Southwest Medical has added a new physician to help meet the growing need for health services in the Las Vegas community. Dr. Kevin Uson joins Southwest Medical’s Tenaya Healthcare Center location (2704 N. Tenaya Way) and specializes in adult medicine.
