Caesars Entertainment Corp. is working on plans to refurbish its small Las Vegas Strip property Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon, which an executive says will be the site of a high-profile nightclub.
Caesars CEO Gary Loveman told analysts during a company-sponsored investors' presentation on Tuesday that the company is talking to lenders about financing for a project to rehabilitate the property's approximately 175 hotel rooms and to develop a new club.
"It sits in a very special place, right at the intersection of Flamingo Road and Las Vegas Boulevard," Loveman said. "Due to some remarkable foresight, the top of this building was built structurally so it can hold something very heavy on top without additional structural work.
"That something very heavy is the next great nightclub experience in Las Vegas," Loveman said.
Loveman said Caesars is teaming for the new nightclub with developer Victor Drai, known for such clubs as the existing Drai's After Hours at Bill's.
Caesars hasn't disclosed the potential cost for the project, which is near the Linq entertainment district under construction behind the Flamingo and the Quad (formerly the Imperial Palace).
At Bill's, Caesars plans to "modify the casino experience and the nightclub experience and introduce the same type of pool club experience you find at all of our competitors — with a panoramic view of the Strip," Loveman said.
Caesars acquired Bill's — then called the Barbary Coast — in 2007.
