Boyd Gaming sells Eldorado Casino in downtown Henderson

The Eldorado Casino in downtown Henderson just after sunset on Wednesday, June 27, 2012.

Boyd Gaming is selling one of its Southern Nevada casinos.

The Las Vegas-based company, according to a spokesman, has an agreement in place to sell the Eldorado Casino to DeSimone Gaming.

The downtown Henderson casino is one of three β€” the others are Eastside Cannery and Main Street Station β€” Boyd properties that have not opened since the state-mandated shutdown that went into effect in March.

DeSimone owns the Railroad Pass Hotel, Casino and Travel Center, which is also in Henderson.

β€œThe Eldorado was a non-core asset to our company, and as we have continued to grow over the years, this property represented a very modest part of our overall business,” said David Strow, a Boyd spokesman, in an emailed statement.

Boyd declined to disclose terms of the deal. After unloading the Eldorado, Boyd will have 11 casinos in Nevada.
