The Cosmopolitan will close temporarily beginning Wednesday.

The casino resort, which made the announcement Monday evening, is the latest Las Vegas casino property to announce it will shut down for a time due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Cosmo will close at 6 p.m. Wednesday with plans to reopen April 1, according to a news release.

“This action is in line with recommendations by local and federal health authorities encouraging limited social gatherings and travel, and Gov. (Steve) Sisolak’s recommendation that casinos consider closing to the public,” the statement read.

Full-time employees at the resort will continue to be paid in full and receive benefits through March 31, according to the statement.
