    • Caesars Entertainment hosted a celebration inside the Windows Theatre at Bally’s as a part of its partnership with 
Olive Crest, a national charity dedicated to treating and educating at-risk children. More than 700 pieces of clothing were collected to help foster youth find jobs or enroll in post-secondary education. Almost 100 young people participated.

    • The Penta Building Group raised $100,000 for the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation and Women’s Development Center during the ninth annual Charity Golf Classic at the Revere Golf Club. Each nonprofit received $50,000.

    • YMCA of Southern Nevada received a $1 million grant from the Engelstad Family Foundation to support its Strong Kids Campaign, which helps low-income children and families participate in summer camp, after-school and fitness programs. Last year, more than 33,000 people received financial assistance worth $384,310 through the Strong Kids Campaign.

    • Station Casinos and Beasley Broadcasting awarded tickets for Toto at Red Rock Resort to people who donated to the victims of the Carpenter 1 Fire on Mt. Charleston.

    • Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort for six weeks donated 20 percent of its chairlift ride ticket sales to the Mt. Charleston Volunteer Fire Department.

    • Poker players participating in the World Series of Poker raised more than $1.3 million for One Drop, which promotes sustainable water-access projects around the world.

    • Village of Hope Las Vegas, which runs an after-school program at Whitney Elementary School, received 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. The group aims to give students healthy alternatives to gangs, drugs, violence and destructive behavior.

    • SuperPawn donated to Spread the Word Nevada and C.T. Sewell School to support literacy programs.

    • Brighton Collectibles sponsored a handbag trade-in program to benefit Dress for Success Southern Nevada, which provides professional outfits to disadvantaged women. In addition, Macy’s partnered with Dress for Success Southern Nevada for the 8th annual “Shop For A Cause” event.

    • Three Firefly locations donated 5 percent of their August proceeds to the Children’s Free Clinic of Southern Nevada.

    • Over the past three years, the United Way of Southern Nevada has helped provide more than 250,000 immunizations to children, run family engagement workshops for more than 18,000 pre-K students and their families, provided more than 1,000 children preschool scholarships and provided free tax preparation to more than 18,100 people, according to a recent organization survey.

    • Citi donated $60,000 to the United Way of Southern Nevada for the Healthy Communities Coalition and to help families become financially stable.

    • Windsong Trust, a private foundation for children’s education, awarded a $1 million grant to the United Way of Southern Nevada to fund preschool programs for children. The grant will pay for 130 full-time scholarships.

    • Participants of Vegas GiveCamp, a weekend getaway for technology and marketing professionals, built and enhanced websites, apps and software for 17 local nonprofit groups.

    • One Queensridge Place hosted a “Gatsby Gamble” to benefit Three Square Food Bank. About 250 guests attended and close to $15,000 was raised through ticket sales and poker buy-ins. In addition, more than 60 locally owned UPS Stores teamed with AARP Nevada and Three Square to organize a food drive for seniors.

    • Las Vegas Henderson Engineers Inc. held Run for the Rebuild, a charity race to support the victims of tornados in Oklahoma. The group raise more than $8,000 for the American Red Cross.

    • Heartland Jiffy Lube in North Las Vegas teamed with the Muscular Dystrophy Association to host a customer appreciation day. Customers who donated to the MDA received savings books with Jiffy Lube coupons. In addition, 13 local Vons stores hosted a cash-register fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

    • A fourth annual “cut-a-thon” for Locks of Love was held at the Rio Spa & Salon. Twenty-two people donated at least 10 inches of hair, and more than 50 ponytails were collected for disadvantaged children who need hair pieces.
