Ballard Spahr attorney Booker Evans Jr. received the Legacy of Advocacy Award from the Student Bar Association of the William S. Boyd School of Law. The award celebrates an established member of the Nevada legal community who has made significant contributions to Nevada and the William S. Boyd School of Law.

Dickinson Wright attorney Cynthia Alexander received the Peter Perlman Service Award. The award recognizes Litigation Counsel of America Fellows who give their time and resources to improve the lives of others.

Mary Tran joined Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie as an associate in the gaming practice group. Attorney Colin Seale, founder and CEO of ThinkLaw, received the Community Juvenile Justice Award at ACLUNV’s 50th anniversary gala for his advocacy and commitment to teaching young people about justice and fairness, and developing their critical thinking skills.

Attorney Beverly Salhanick was awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Past Exalted Rulers Association of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 1468.

Former Nevada Gaming Commission Chairman Pete Bernhard received the Anti-Defamation League - Nevada’s Jurisprudence Award. His work has included major real estate transactions, commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He is of counsel to law firm Kaempfer, Crowell, Renshaw, Gronauer & Fiorentino.

Joe Rajchel is outreach coordinator for the American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada. Rajchel will focus his efforts on building community and coalition support for ACLUNV’s legal and policy programs.

McDonald Carano Wilson attorney P. Gregory Giordano is the chief editor of the First Edition of The Nevada Gaming Law Practice and Procedure Manual. Giordano wrote a chapter for the publication focusing on publicly traded corporations, private equity companies and institutional investors. The manual was published by the Gaming Law Section of the Nevada State Bar, of which Giordano is vice chairman.
