Braxton Miller has been hired as a project engineer at the Penta Building Group. He will work on the Bellagio room remodel. Miller recently graduated from Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston, Idaho, and previously served as a laborer for Alliance Roofing in San Jose, Calif.
Josh Nisenson has been named national sales manager at the D Las Vegas. Prior to joining the D, he was the national sales manager at the Hard Rock Hotel and Treasure Island resort. He will oversee leisure and corporate sales at the downtown property.

Nick Angelo has been hired as a web designer and front-end developer and Jessica Schulz as a new client relations account coordinator at 1010 Collective, a boutique advertising agency based in the Arts District downtown. Angelo specializes in Wordpress development, email marketing and interactive advertising. At 1010 Collective, he will be responsible for bringing client initiatives to life online through CSS, HTML and PHP development. Schulz will assist in client relations with a focus in managing projects and strategizing social media efforts.

Anne Lindsay
Teresa Byington and Anne Lindsay have received tenure and promotions to the rank of associate professor at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. Byington, an early care and education specialist, works primarily with child-care providers. Lindsay, an exercise physiologist, focuses on education and research involving women under correctional supervision with issues of substance abuse, eating disorders, body image and health. Both collaborate with programming to address childhood obesity issues.
Burke Construction Group recently completed the College Villas Senior Living Apartments Complex, which provides 226 units for senior citizens. The $12,747,201 project is located at 511 College Drive in Henderson. The project was managed by Burke Construction Group Senior Project Manager Jeffrey Contenta and designed by Eric Strain of assemblageSTUDIO.
Personal injury attorney Farhan R. Naqvi has moved his law practice to 9500 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 104. The office holds the firm’s 12 employees with room for future expansion. Naqvi founded Personal Injury of Nevada, which specializes in accident and injury cases, in 2008.
Gary Waddell recently was honored by the Court Appointed Special Advocate Foundation at the 22nd Annual Child Advocacy Recognition Dinner. He was acknowledged as the CASA Foundation’s Child Advocate of the Year for his long-standing contributions to the program and the community. Previous recipients of CASA Foundation’s Child Advocate of the Year include Mayors Carolyn and Oscar Goodman, Dave Courvoisier, Carol Kirshman, the Alterwitz family, Dr. Miriam Adelson, Justice Nancy Saitta and Barbara Buckley.
Serina Choi, a marketing and business development consultant at NV Licensing Services of Las Vegas, has become a member of Leadership Nevada’s inaugural graduation class. Leadership Nevada is a community leadership development program sponsored by the Las Vegas Latin Chamber of Commerce created to train and inspire new leaders to serve Southern Nevada’s public and private sectors.
