Gov. Brian Sandoval reappointed five people to the Nevada State Contractors Board’s Commission on Construction Education. Jennifer Lewis, Dale Lowery, Shawn Danoski, David McElwain and Edward Horan will serve through June 2016. The commissioners distribute and manage grants for schools and other organizations that teach students construction skills.
Jessica Zimmerman joined Red 7 Communications, a public relations firm, as a junior account executive. She is working on her master’s degree in journalism at UNLV.
Vince Casas, campus chair of technology at the International Academy of Design & Technology, is a finalist for an Educator of the Year award. He will compete against other finalists from the Career Education Corp. network.
Ralph Murphy is director of regional development and governmental affairs for the Burke Construction Group. He will oversee growth and expansion in the upper Midwest division. Murphy has more than 30 years of commercial real estate and construction experience and has developed more than 5 million square feet of commercial space in the West.
Aaron Goldberg is capital markets group associate at Avison Young. He specializes in investment property sales, land sales and medical office leasing and sales. He previously worked for Goliath Properties and Grubb & Ellis.
Luis Garcia, a student at ITT Technical Institute, is a technical assistant for Aardvark Video and Media Productions, which specializes in business video production.
HealthCare Partners Nevada, a physician-run network of primary, specialty and urgent care providers, presented artist Jeffrey Oldham with the Golden Brush award honoring his entry in the Celebrating Life! fine arts competition.
