Thomas Fay is deputy director and chief operating officer of the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. He will oversee 13 urban branches, 11 suburban branches, an outreach homework center, the virtual library, community outreach, contract services and the computer-assisted literacy program. Fay previously served as executive director of the Henderson District Public Libraries.

Patty Lee
Patricia Lee, a partner at Hutchison & Steffen, received the American Bar Association’s national Pro Bono Publico Award for providing free legal services for the poor. Lee was one of three attorneys nationally to receive the award this year and is the first Nevada attorney to earn the honor. She was nominated by the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada.
Attorney Samuel Schwartz joined the board of directors of Shield of Hope, a nonprofit collaboration between law enforcement and government, community and faith-based organizations to reduce violence in neighborhoods.

International Game Technology will provide a management system for the Grand Ho Tram Strip in Vietnam. Also, Tracey Weber and Eric Brown were named to the company’s board of directors. Weber was managing director of CitiBank, and Brown is CEO, chief financial officer and executive vice president of Polycom Inc.

G.H.I. Solutions President Claudia Winkler will program the 2014 Gaming Technology Conference. Winkler will serve as content director. It is the second year she was retained by BNP Media. Steve Kompst also joined G.H.I. Solutions as part of its information technology team. He previously worked as part of a local technology consortium.
Tom Humm, vice president and general manager of Beasley Broadcast Group’s local operations, won the Nevada Broadcasters Association’s Lifetime Achievement award. Humm has been in broadcasting for 35 years.

April Mastroluca is executive director of the Nevada Conservation League. The former two-term state assemblywoman has more than 10 years of nonprofit and professional experience. She replaces Scot Rutledge.
Jayar Hawley, an agent in North Las Vegas, was named an Allstate Premier Agent for 2013.
Bob Crowell, a partner at Kaempfer Crowell, won the Presidential Award from the State Bar of Nevada for his conduct, honesty and integrity. The award is given annually to an attorney with 20 years or more in practice.
Dawn Gibbons, senior vice president of communications and government relations for the Intermountain West Communications Company, was named the August Share humanitarian of the month. Gibbons was selected for her contributions to Veterans Village, which offers veterans and their families temporary housing and resources.
