2012 End Distracted Driving Campaign

Distracted driving is responsible for more than 5,000 deaths and close to 450,000 accidents in the U.S. every year. Text messaging creates a crash risk 23 times worse than driving while not distracted. Drivers who use handheld devices are 4 times more likely to get into an injury-producing crash.
These are just a few of the startling and tragic statistics that result from distracted driving. As part of April’s National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, I have teamed with The Casey Feldman Foundation, EndDD.org and 60 for Safety as a local speaker in their North American End Distracted
Driving: Student Awareness Initiative. I will be joining more than 750 (and growing!) attorneys, judges and advocates in all 50 states and throughout Canada to present a unified awareness and education message during the second and third weeks of April.
There are more than a dozen Las Vegas attorneys speaking on this topic during April. We are coordinating our efforts to speak to as many teens as possible during the last 1.2 of the month. Sites, dates and times will be announced as they become booked. We are hoping to have April proclaimed End Distracted Driving Month to help raise awareness in our area.
I am sharing this information with you and other members of our local media in hopes that your coverage would expand our message and help End Distracted Driving in our community. Would you consider reporting to your readers this important issue and the efforts that we’re collectively
making to help End Distracted Driving?
Please contact me for further information.
