Las Vegas teacher a finalist for service trip to Costa Rica

Diane Sytko, a teacher at Gibson Middle School, has an opportunity to make a difference this summer during a week-long journey to Costa Rica.
NAME was one of 27 educators recently selected from a nationwide pool of applicants for Impact Costa Rica, an all-expense-paid serviced-based journey with Discovery Student Adventures.
Impact Costa Rica participants will be immersed in the local culture as they volunteer for a variety of projects—from helping renovate a school, to assisting environmentalists in planting trees, to helping marine biologists save endangered sea turtles.
The 5 teachers selected for the trip will be announced in mid-March.

Spokane, Wash.-based Discovery Student Adventures offers teacher-led educational trips to domestic and international destinations for students in grades 5-12.
