Hundreds of teachers, parents, students and community leaders to rally
School Board Trustees to make students’ education the top priority
*** Thursday, March 22, 2012 ***
Who: Parents, students, community leaders, and Clark County public school teachers will hold a demonstration and rally to provide students a voice and protect their educational opportunities.
What: As the School Board of Trustees and District officials prepare the budget for the 2012/2013 school year, it is imperative they make the students’ education the top priority. An investment in classroom resources is vital. Increasing class size by an average of 3 to 4 students as a means to balance the budget will result in a significant reduction of classroom resources, ultimately hurting our students’ opportunity for academic success.
The educational experiences of the more than 300,000 students attending Clark County’s public schools is hinging on the School Board Trustees making the right choices as they move forward with the budgetary process. Meeting the educational needs of our students must be at the forefront of the decisions they make in the Boardroom.
It is time District officials provide students with the best chance for success and it starts with additional resources in the classroom. Our students need a quality education to succeed in life – provide them the opportunity now!
When: Thursday, March 22, 2012 – from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Where: In front of the Edward Greer Education Center
2832 E. Flamingo Road
Las Vegas, NV 89121
