Las Vegas CEO’s/Executives “SkyJump For Scouting”!
(LAS VEGAS, NEV.) March 23, 2012 –
The Las Vegas Area Council, Boy Scouts of America and the Stratosphere Casino, Hotel & Tower teamed up to benefit the 2,000 youth served through the Scoutreach program. . CEO’s, executives and politicians joined together on Thursday, March 23 to “Skyjump for Scouting”. Each participant experienced the thrill of the SkyJump while raising funds for Scouting by collecting a minimum of $855 in pledges; $1 for every foot above the Las Vegas strip. They joined an exclusive club of those dropping from SkyJump Las Vegas – the highest sky jump in the world.
Las Vegas City Councilmen Steve Ross; Kelli Ross State Senate candidate, Mark Hutchison, Huthchison & Steffen Law, Mark Shank, VP NV Energy, Jack Mallory, Int. Union Painters and Allied Trades, Brad Iverson, Las Vegas Fire; Tina Quigly, General Manager of the Regional Transportation Commission; Mike Gorman, General Manager AMR; Darren Mehling, United Healthcare; Ed Janov, VP Southwest Gas, Caroline Ciocca, Cash America and Michelle Thackston, City of Las Vegas where some of the participants that Skyjumped for Scouting. “I am taking a leap of faith that Scouting will provide our kids, tomorrow’s leaders, with the tools they will need to bring our country back to greatness, added Councilman Ross, the 2012 Skyjump for Scouting Chair.”
The focus of the Scoutreach program is to offer culturally diverse youth the opportunity to join Scouting. This event supported the Las Vegas Area Council, Boy Scouts of America in its yearly program for 19,500+ youth and 7,000+ volunteers.
