HENDERSON, Nev. (August 19, 2013) – The Windermere Foundation, the charitable foundation established by Windermere Real Estate in 1989, is now accepting applications from local nonprofits to receive the company’s entire 2013 endowment. The foundation will give the selected organization $6,800 to support its community outreach efforts.
The endowment is funded by agents of the local Windermere offices. For every transaction a Windermere agent makes in the Las Vegas Valley, a portion of the commission is donated to the Windermere Foundation and combined with donations from Windermere employees and community members. Every year, funds from the foundation are distributed as a grant to a local nonprofit, selected by a committee of agents. Past recipients have included HopeLink of Southern Nevada and Family Promise of Las Vegas, two nonprofits with programs aimed at preventing homelessness.
Organizations that apply for the grant must be registered nonprofits committed to helping homeless and low-income families in Southern Nevada. Applications can be found at www.windermerelasvegas.com/community-service-day. The grant application form is located on the second page of the company’s Community Service Day application. Applications must be submitted to [email protected], or faxed to (702) 726-5510, by Aug. 31.
“The Windermere Foundation was created with the intention of providing funds to support organizations that provide important services to those in need,” said Robyn Yates, owner/broker of Windermere Prestige Properties. “We at Windermere Real Estate are excited to continue this community tradition and aid organizations that play such a vital role in helping our local families get back on their feet.”
The Windermere Foundation in Southern Nevada is part of a nationwide effort by Windermere Real Estate. Contributions from Windermere agents, employees and the public have allowed the Windermere Foundation to distribute over $2 million annually in recent years to nonprofits that provide assistance to homeless and low-income families.
