Nevada Health CO-OP Announces New CEO

LAS VEGAS (August 23, 2013) – Nevada Health CO-OP, a Nevada-based not-for-profit health insurance alternative created under the Affordable Care Act, announced today the organization has appointed Tom Zumtobel as its new CEO.
With more than 20 years of experience in the medical field, Zumtobel has a comprehensive understanding of the needs of patients and medical professionals. Zumtobel was most recently President of the Culinary Health Fund. Throughout his career in health care, Zumtobel served as the Vice President of Strategy at UHH Chicago.
As president of the Culinary Health Fund, Zumtobel worked with a team to provide quality health care to members by improving health care costs and quality transparency, engaging patients in their care, and by providing physicians with the tools needed to provide efficient care. Zumtobel is committed to ensuring the same principles of excellence for members of the Nevada Health CO-OP.
In his new role as CEO for the Nevada Health CO-OP, Zumtobel will work with the organization to enroll 30,000 members in its first year. Nevada Health CO-OP plans to engage individuals and small-business owners seeking an alternative to large insure based out-of-state. The Nevada Health CO-OP will offer its members an affordable consumer-owned health plan that is focused on customer service and quality.
