Longtime Nevada Media Executive Bruce Spotleson Joins Vegas PBS as Director of Corporate Partnerships

(Las Vegas) – Vegas PBS has announced today that longtime Nevada media executive Bruce Spotleson is joining the station as the new Director of Corporate Partnerships. In his new position, Spotleson is responsible for leading the sponsorship team in developing corporate and institutional support for Vegas PBS.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Bruce Spotleson join the Vegas PBS senior management team as Director of Corporate Partnerships,” said Tom Axtell, general manager of Vegas PBS. “Bruce has earned a stellar reputation in Las Vegas as a fair-minded journalist and creator of excellent sponsor value in thoughtful and entertaining print, broadcast, event and web marketing programs. He will bring his advanced skills, and an effervescent personality, to the business relationships of Vegas PBS and its community sponsors.”

“I'm really proud to join Vegas PBS, which connects with viewers on so many levels and in such unique and innovative ways,” said Spotleson. “It's exciting to be part of a successful organization, but especially one so clearly dedicated to making our community stronger. I'm energized and I'm looking forward to getting started.”

From 1998 until mid-October of this year, Spotleson had at various times been a publisher, editor and general manager with Greenspun Media Group. He had most recently served as general manager of KTUD, a Greenspun-owned independent television station that ceased broadcasting Oct. 11.

He is the 2014 chairman-elect of the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce.

During his time with Greenspun Media Group, Spotleson played a central role in the company's management and growth. He was the founding executive of two of its current publications, Las Vegas Weekly and In Business Las Vegas, now known as VEGAS Inc. During his time with Greenspun, he also served as senior executive of Las Vegas Life magazine and the Home News Group of newspapers, and managed numerous other company publications and media.

During his time in Nevada, he has won several first-place awards for column writing from the Nevada Press Association.

Spotleson came to Southern Nevada in 1996, when he was named senior local executive of the Las Vegas Press, where he published the Las Vegas Business Press and re-positioned the local publication Las Vegas New Times as the alternative weekly newspaper CityLife.

Prior to that, he was publisher of the Tahoe Daily Tribune.

In 2007, Spotleson was named Private Sector Person of the Year by the City of Henderson, the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and the Henderson Economic Development Association. He is a member of the southern Nevada advisory board for US Bank.
