Las Vegas attorney Dennis Kennedy of the law firm Bailey Kennedy LLP today announced settlement of a national class-action lawsuit in Massachusetts filed on behalf of purchasers of diet drinks produced by SLIMQUICK, NV and Liquid Hoodia Extreme.
Kennedy was part of the lead counsel team for the plaintiffs in the case. Bailey Kennedy was one of four law firms around the country representing purchasers of the products in 16 lawsuits filed in 2007 that were combined into the class action. The suit alleged makers of the products made false and misleading statements in their labeling and advertising of the drinks.
Kennedy said hundreds of millions of bottles of SLIMQUICK, NV and Liquid Hoodia Extreme were sold nationally, with SLIMQUICK the largest-selling item. They were sold over the counter with no prescription needed.
Kennedy said buyers of any of the products between Jan. 1, 2003, and Aug. 5 of this year are entitled to a refund of $14 for one bottle or $28 for two or more bottles purchased.
Details on the settlement and obtaining refunds are at www.wellnxusasettlement.com.
