Baha Mar, a $3.5 billion resort development in Nassau City, the Bahamas, has retained Las Vegas-based SK+G as its advertising agency of record. SK+G will provide brand strategy, creative and web development, as well as media planning and buying services to the resort, slated to open in late 2014.

COLAB, a nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and promoting the local architecture and design community, will open Thursday at 817 S. Main St., Las Vegas. The location will have an architecture and design gallery, and is the result of a collaboration among a spectrum of downtown community members. CBRE Group, for the 11th consecutive year, has been named the top global brand in commercial real estate, according to an international survey of industry professionals worldwide by the Lipsey Company. Colliers International was ranked second overall for the third year in a row. More than 50,000 property owners, investors, lenders, occupiers, brokers and property managers participated in the survey, which uses a combination of voting and focus groups to calculate the relative strength of commercial real estate brands among all categories in the industry.

The Soggy Dog, a do-it-yourself dog wash center and pet supplies store in Henderson, is one of three finalists for a national Retailer Excellence Award by Pet Business Magazine and Global Pet Expo in the customer service excellence category. The awards are designed to honor outstanding independent pet stores.

Pizza Fusion, which characterizes itself as a socially responsible chain, will open a restaurant this spring in the Eastern Commons Shopping Center in Henderson. The chain places an emphasis on local sources for its produce and builds its restaurants according to LEED certification standards.

The Clearinghouse Community Development Financial Institution, which offers loans for projects that provide community benefit, job creation and improved quality of life for low-income communities, has opened an office in Las Vegas. The California-based financial institution, which is certified by the U.S. Department of Treasury, will concentrate local lending efforts in the areas of affordable housing, community facilities, faith-based projects and small businesses. Heading up the Nevada operation is Brian Maddox, a veteran Nevada banker.

Vox Solid Communications, the Las Vegas-based public relations and social media agency, announced its newest client: Brain Balance Achievement Centers. The agency partnered with Brain Balance to handle public relations for the grand opening of its Henderson facility.
