CARSON CITY - The state Gaming Control Board has filed a complaint accusing the owner of a Carson City casino of permitting unapproved poker chips to be used three times in tournaments.
The complaint says the conduct of David Scott Tate "tends to reflect discredit on the state or its gaming industry."
The David Scott Tate Gaming Trust, owner of Cactus Jack's in the state capital, has time to answer the complaint and defend itself before the Nevada Gaming Commission.
The board is asking the commission to impose fine for each violation and take whatever discipline it desires against the license. The chips, which were not approved by the board chairman, were used in three separate tournaments in 2010.
Tate has eight other non-restricted gaming licenses, two non restricted locations operated on a periodic basis, eight restricted locations and a slot operator's permit.
