Jon Porter is president, Sean Higgins is chief operating officer and Mike Sullivan is director of state government affairs for Porter Gordon Silver Communications, a recently formed business development and government affairs partnership with the law firm of Gordon Silver. Porter is a former Nevada congressman, state senator and Boulder City mayor who owned and operated an insurance business for more than 20 years. Higgins is a partner in Gordon Silver, where he served as in-house counsel for 17 years for the Herbst Companies. Sullivan has been doing political consulting and government affairs work in Nevada for 22 years. Other members of the new organization are Dan Mauer, director of federal government affairs; Nicole Sarouphim, director of political development; and Jenifer Cannon, regulatory and government affairs assistant. The company plans to offer business development and government affairs services in gaming and internet gaming, transportation, insurance, international business development, energy, aviation, defense, and travel and tourism.
