Allegiant Air adds routes to Hawaii

An Allegiant Air jet takes off from McCarran International Airport on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011.

Allegiant Air, which last month announced plans to offer nonstop flights between McCarran International Airport and Honolulu beginning June 29, has filled out its Hawaii schedule with routes beginning next fall from Santa Maria and Stockton, Calif., Bellingham, Wash., and Eugene, Ore.

The Las Vegas-based airline also announced a second destination in Hawaii, Kahului Airport on Maui, from Bellingham.

The four cities have existing Allegiant service.

Allegiant announced it would use its recently acquired twin-engine Boeing 757 jet fleet to fly from Bellingham to Maui on Sundays and Wednesdays beginning Nov. 14 and to Honolulu on Mondays and Thursdays beginning Nov. 15.

Bellingham is a popular departure airport for Canadians living in nearby Vancouver, British Columbia.

The airline will fly between Eugene and Honolulu and Santa Maria and Honolulu Saturdays beginning Nov. 17 and between Stockton and Honolulu on Sundays beginning Nov. 18.

Allegiant is introducing the routes with base fares that range from $159 to $199 one way.

The airline’s Hawaii service from Las Vegas will operate three times a week. Allegiant also announced once-a-week service between Fresno, Calif., and Honolulu when it unveiled its Las Vegas schedule.
