      Michael Chudd and Michael Libraty are first vice presidents-investments at UBS Financial Services. Chudd, based in the Summerlin office, has been with the firm for 15 years, and holds a Wealth Advisor designation. Libraty, based in the Henderson office, has been with the firm since 2008 and in the financial services industry since 2003.

    • William M. Scott IV is senior resident executive for Greater China for MGM Resorts International. He will also be the company’s resident director for MGM China Holdings Limited, which owns MGM Macau. In his new position, he will facilitate cooperation, communication and synergy between MGM’s Asia- and U.S.-based teams. Scott joined the company in 2009 and had been its executive vice president–corporate strategy and special counsel.

      Charles Blumenthal is a grass-roots specialist, Valerie Colapret is a media buyer and Tomika Brown is an account executive with MassMedia Corporate Communications, a public relations, advertising and marketing firm. Blumenthal most recently was deputy communications director for the Nevada State Democratic Party. Colapret has worked in advertising and marketing at Mithoff Burton Partners in El Paso, Texas. Brown previously was with R&R Advertising.

    • Bradley Kenny, an attorney with Craig P. Kenny and Associates and a small claims judge in the 8th Judicial District, has received an Outstanding Achievement Award from Eureka College of Eureka, Ill., for professional achievement and community service.

    • Mario Malatesta is executive manager of operations for Sansone Real Estate Services, a new division of the Henderson-based residential and commercial real estate management and development company. He is a broker with 27 years’ experience in strategy development and implementation. He previously wes executive vice president of residential management, leasing and sales at Terra West Management Services in Las Vegas.

    • McGinley & Associates welcomes Biren Patel as staff scientist and Ashley Katri as office manager for the Las Vegas office.

He has more than 25 years of experience as a driver and services more than 500 customers weekly.

She most recently was public information officer for the Department of Business & Industry, as well as chairwoman of the Fight Fraud Taskforce and coordinator of the Foreclosure Prevention Taskforce.

    • Bob Miller, Las Vegas district manager of Albertsons Sav-on Pharmacy, has joined the Board of Directors at Goodwill of Southern Nevada.

    • Nina Gallagher, senior tax manager of Tompkins & Peters CPAs, is treasurer of Toys4Smiles, a nonprofit charitable organization that produces toys for children in need in the Las Vegas area.

    • Workplace ESL Solutions has announced the launch of Ronna Timpa’s Hotel English Online, an online ESL learning program for hotel workers, and part of a partnership with Vegas PBS.

    • Tropical Smoothie Café, a restaurant chain, has announced plans to open three stores on the Strip. The first will open May 25, adjacent to Planet Hollywood. Stores inside Stratosphere and Excalibur are expected to open in late summer.

    • Papyrus has opened at Fashion Show, its first Las Vegas location. The 800-square-foot store will carry a complete brand collection as well as the Niquea.D Salon, which features jewelry, accessories and gifts.

    • Nevada State Bank, a subsidiary of Zions Bancorporation, reported net earnings of $6.9 million for the quarter ended March 31. It said lower credit costs and improving loan quality were instrumental in the improvements.

    • Meadows Bank, a community bank headquartered in Las Vegas, has announced first-quarter net income after taxes of $626,000, or 15 cents per share, compared with $815,000 of net income during the same period last year. As a result of operating losses in prior years, the bank did not incur any taxes in 2011.
