Rita Vaswani was appointed by U.S. Sen. Harry Reid to the board of directors of the Congressional Awards. Vaswani is the vice president and professional banking relationship manager for Nevada State Bank. The Congressional Awards recognize exemplary youth nationwide for their volunteerism, physical fitness and personal achievement. Vaswani serves as vice president of the nonprofit FirstMed and Wellness and vice chairman of the board of governors for Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center. She also is the president of the Las Vegas India Chamber of Commerce and serves on the advisory board of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada.

Tom Hoover joined Landauer Valuation & Advisory, a division of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, as a director. He previously worked for Lubawy & Associates as a senior appraiser. Hoover received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and his master’s degree and juris doctorate from Saint Louis University. He received his MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute.

Wenner, a family physician, serves patients at 3960 W. Craig Road, Suite 101, North Las Vegas. Patel will continue to see patients in his office at 4275 S. Burnham Ave., Suite 335, Las Vegas. However, the clinic’s name has changed to HealthCare Partners Burnham Cardiology.

Terri Janison was promoted to vice president of community development at the United Way of Southern Nevada. Janison previously served as the United Way’s senior director since June 2012. She will advocate for education, health and financial stability for underserved children and families.

Harrah College of Hotel Administration at UNLV. Fuller received the “Hospitality Industry Leader of the Year” award, while Lehman received the “Alumnus of the Year” award.
