    • Dewalt sponsored the Las Vegas Veterans Day Parade, saluting veterans by marching in the parade alongside four Dewalt trucks, a five-ton military vehicle and a replica of the Dewalt-branded NASCAR race car. It also made a tool donation to the Veterans of Foreign Wars post in downtown Las Vegas. The tools will be used to setup a loaning center, where local veterans can borrow and utilize tools for projects, at no cost.

    • FirstService Residential, a local community management company, has partnered with “Cell Phones for Soldiers” on a donation drive. Gently used phones will be collected and recycled. The proceeds will be used to purchase calling cards for soldiers deployed overseas. Phones are being collected through the end of the year at its five area locations.

    • MGM Resorts International hosted more than 80 wounded warriors and their guests over Veterans Day weekend as part of the “Salute to the Troops” annual event. It provides five days of relaxation, entertainment and sightseeing for selected veterans. This was the largest contingent of wounded warriors in the five years of the event. MGM Resorts provided accommodations at the Mirage. American Airlines provided air travel.

    • Station Casinos offered a free buffet on Veterans Day at all Feast and Festival Buffet locations to all active military members and veterans. Additionally, Wildfire Casinos offered 50 percent off meals at all Wild Grill locations and the Brewer’s Café to active and veteran military.

    • Caesars Entertainment, the Caesars Foundation and Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada marked Veterans Day by lending a hand to help rebuild and restore veterans’ residences, the surrounding neighborhood and a community park. The rebuild project included repairs and modifications to three homes that will improve energy efficiency, finances and safety. Supporters will also restore the exterior of the properties.

    • More than $30,000 was raised by Global Gaming Women at its annual Kick Up Your Heels event held in Las Vegas. The money will go toward the group’s charitable education fund, which provides scholarships for women in gaming. Top donations included $10,000 from Dotty’s Casinos and $5,000 from Bally Technologies. In addition to the more than $30,000 in cash contributions, American Casino and Entertainment Properties contributed $6,600 in in-kind donations. Also, culinary students from UNLV’s William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration donated cookies as favors for the event.

    • Nevada Women’s Philanthropy awarded its annual Impact Grant of $350,000 to Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth. It will be used for the expansion of NPHY’s William Fry Youth Drop-In Center on Shirley Street in Las Vegas. NPHY is a nonprofit organization that provides assistance and resources to homeless teenagers in Southern Nevada.

    • Bank of America donated $10,000 toward Three Square Food Bank’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program initiatives. The grant increases the program’s outreach and visibility in the community and helps extend the application process to more people in Southern Nevada. Over the years, Bank of America has invested nearly $350,000 in grants to Three Square, which equates to more than 1 million meals back into the community.

    • The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing assistance and resources to homeless teenagers in Southern Nevada, held its Seventh Annual Plastic Food Drive. The drive was designed to provide homeless youths with immediate assistance and nourishment throughout the holiday season. NPHY aimed to raise $20,000 in food vouchers to help feed the approximately 7,000 homeless youths in Clark County. Fast food and grocery store gift card vouchers were collected.

    • The International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans donated $15,000 to Communities In Schools of Nevada at their 59th Annual Employee Benefits Conference.

    • Help of Southern Nevada hosted its 14th Annual Tea, Trends and Tranquility event, where proceeds directly benefited the nonprofit. Help of Southern Nevada operates nine departments, consists of 97 employees and serves more than 103,000 clients each year.

    • The Henderson Firefighters donated $500 to S.A.F.E. House as a sponsor of their 5th Annual S.A.F.E. House “Run for Shelter.” This is the third year that the firefighters were a sponsor of the event.

    • Executives, entertainers and team members from Caesars Entertainment Las Vegas resorts raised more than $15,000 for the American Cancer Society during its third annual Battle of the Bras Fashion Show and auction. The event capped a monthlong initiative by designing unique bras to be modeled and auctioned off with proceeds donated to breast cancer research. About 100 donated bras from Frederick’s of Hollywood were designed and submitted with glitter, rhinestones, prints, sports and show-themed sound capabilities. Selections of the designed bras were auctioned off on the runway.
