The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers’ board of directors has re-elected a slate of officers, including Thomas A. Jingoli, chief compliance officer for Konami Gaming, as president. Jingoli will serve a second two-year term. One-year terms also were approved for: Orrin Edidin, vice president; Seamus McGill, secretary; Tom Nieman, treasurer; Neil H. Friedman, co-general counsel; and Mark Lerner, co-general counsel. AGEM is an international trade group that represents manufacturers and suppliers of electronic gaming devices, systems, table games, components and support products for the gaming industry.
The Nevada chapter of the Community Associations Institute announced its board of directors. Board members serve three-year terms and include: Donna Toussaint, president; Norman Rosensteel, president-elect; Paul P. Terry Jr., of Angius & Terry LLP, vice president; Patricia Taylor, of Taylor Association Management, secretary; Mindy Martinez, of Western Risk Insurance, treasurer; Steve Vitali, of the Management Trust, director; James Gibson, of Red Rock Financial Services, director; Judith Hanson, of Sun City Aliante, director; and Tiffany Dessaints, of Associa Nevada South, director. The Community Associations Institute represents homeowners associations, community managers and industry partners.
Sen. Harry Reid announced a $13,877,228 grant for the Boulder City Hospital. The money comes from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development Fund and will be used to renovate and expand the hospital’s emergency department, pharmacy, home health lab, dietary areas, surgery department, physical therapy department, long-term care unit and admissions lobby.
MGM Resorts International received from Gov. Brian Sandoval the 11th annual “Governor’s Points of Light Award” for employee volunteerism. In 2012, employees spent more than 113,000 hours volunteering with more than 850 charitable organizations.
Roger Grandgenett has been named managing shareholder of the Las Vegas office of Littler Mendelson, an employment and labor law firm that represents management. Grandgenett succeeds Wendy Krincek, who will return to a full-time legal practice at Littler. Grandgenett advises and represents employers on a wide range of labor and employment matters. Prior to joining Littler, he was an adjunct professor at the Community College of Southern Nevada.
Jessica Woelfel was named partner at McDonald Carano Wilson. Woelfel has a broad base of experience after practicing with a large San Francisco law firm and founding her own firm in South Lake Tahoe. She graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of Law and has experience practicing before state and federal courts, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
First Amendment attorney Marc J. Randazza has been recognized by several national organizations for his work in the adult entertainment industry. CNBC listed Randazza as one of “Porn’s Top 10 Most Powerful Players of 2013.” The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection named him the recipient of its 2013 Service Recognition Award. Randazza also was inducted as an officer in the First Amendment Lawyers Association. Randazza, a free speech advocate, defends members of the adult entertainment industry and fights to protect the rights of consenting adults to perform, produce and distribute erotica.
