    • Joseph Romano

      Joseph Romano

      Joseph Romano is vice president of operations for PT’s Entertainment Group. He will oversee day-to-day operations at the company’s 43 taverns statewide, which include PT’s, Sierra Gold and Sparky’s. Romano received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Culinary Institute of America.

    • A group of Southern Nevada health care professionals attended the National Association of Health Underwriters’ 83rd annual convention in Atlanta. The health care summit focused on helping insurance professionals adapt to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Attending were: Vickie Mayville, of Mayville Inc.; Larry Harrison and Mike Wied, of Harrison Insurance Agency; Rebecca Purdy, of Distinctive Insurance; Joy Gardner, of Comstock Insurance Agencies; Ken LaRovere, of Word and Brown; Melissa Davies, of Clark and Associates; Emily Maushardt, of United Healthcare; Lydia Boske, of Nevada West Business Insurance; Heidi Sterner, of Health Plan of Nevada/Sierra Health and Life Insurance; and Len Barend, of Barend Agency Inc.

      Michael Golubic

      Michael Golubic is lead engineer for Gatski Commercial Real Estates Services and B&R Receivership’s 400 S. Fourth St. project, a 103,119-square-foot, Class A office building downtown. Olivia Fisher is overseeing property management, while Rob Lujan and Jason Simon are handling leasing.

    • Heather Cook is a broker for Housing Angels, which recently opened in Las Vegas to help homeowners struggling with financial hardship. Investors purchase underwater homes through a short sale, then allow homeowners to rent the house back, with an option to buy it in two to four years. Cook and her husband, Dave Dziedzic, launched Housing Angels in 2010 in Phoenix.

    • Rebecca Miltenberger

      Rebecca Miltenberger

      Rebecca Miltenberger, an associate at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, was appointed to the JDRF Las Vegas Chapter Board of Directors. She will help form the Nevada JDRF Young Leadership Committee and assist with fundraising and outreach. JDRF is a global organization focused on type 1 diabetes research. Additionally, Jennifer Carleton, a Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck shareholder, was appointed secretary of the Discovery Children’s Museum Board of Directors. She will manage board meeting minutes, membership books and general records. The law firm has represented the museum for five years.

    • Jonas Peterson

      Jonas Peterson

      Jonas Peterson is chief operating officer at the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance. He will develop short- and long-term plans and budgets. Peterson previously served as president and CEO of the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation. Brendan Leake is economic development coordinator for the Alliance. He will research and develop activities and operations involving economic development, redevelopment, land development and business development. He previously worked at Nevada State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree.

    • Patricia Falvey

      Patricia Falvey

      Patricia Falvey is director of development for corporate support and philanthropy at Vegas PBS. Falvey previously worked as vice president of development for Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada. She graduated with a certificate in the principles and techniques of fundraising from the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University and an Master’s of Science degree in public administration from Troy State University.

    • Byron Williams

      Byron Williams

      Byron Williams is director of tax at Southwest Gas. He will direct all tax-related activities, including utility operations, construction and partnerships. Williams previously worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nevada and California Society of Certified Public Accountants.

    • Sara Johansson is transaction coordinator at Colliers International – Las Vegas. She previously worked for five years as an administrative assistant in the Honolulu office of Colliers International.

    • Olivia Fierro, of Fox 5 News, and Michael Anderson, of Hilton Grand Vacations, joined the board of directors for Dress for Success Southern Nevada, which promotes economic independence for disadvantaged women.

    • Donny Miller is California and Nevada regional manager for Fiberon, a composite decking manufacturer. Miller has been in the building materials industry for four years, most recently with Jeldwen.

    • The Nevada State Development Corporation was named the Platinum SBA 504 lender for Nevada at the U.S. Small Business Administration Small Business Awards. NSDC had 72 loans approved last year, worth $42,218,000. Established in 1981, the corporation has funded more than 1,429 loans with an estimated value of $620.8 million.
