    • The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers’ board of directors approved membership for eight companies: Global Experience Specialists, of Las Vegas, a trade show and event company; GeoComply USA, of Henderson, which provides geolocation services; Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, of Las Vegas, a law firm that represents gaming clients; Union Gaming Group, of Las Vegas, a portfolio of companies focused on global equity research, investment banking and gaming-related market and economic analytics; Merkur Gaming, of Germany, a subsidiary of the German Gauselmann Group, a slot machines supplier; Advanced Micro Devices, of Sunnyvale, Calif., which designs and builds technology for computing devices; Camryn Industries, of Southfield, Mich., a manufacturer; and Eastsign International Limited, of Hong Kong, a digital materials, printing and signage supplier. The trade group now has 134 members, an all-time high.

    • JPMorgan Chase opened its first branch in Las Vegas’ Chinatown. The expansion created 11 jobs and provides area residents financial planning tools, mortgage origination services, college and auto loans and credit cards. Chase has a 13-year history in Nevada, runs 35 local branches and employs about 475 people.

    • The Nevada Sesquicentennial Planning Committee hired the Glenn Group, a marketing communications firm, to promote the statewide celebration. The agency will work with the committee to build awareness and drive the overall strategy of the commemoration.

    • One Nevada Credit Union was honored by AARP and the Society for Human Resource Management as one of the “2013 Best Employers for Workers Over 50.” The credit union serves residents of Clark, Nye and Washoe counties.

    • Holland & Hart achieved gold standard certification from the Women in Law Empowerment Forum for the third straight year. The certification recognizes firms that have integrated women in top leadership positions and paid them fairy. Only 42 law firms in the United States met this year’s criteria.

    • MGM Resorts International was named a “2013 Top 100 Company for Masters of Business Administration Students” by Universum Global, an employer research firm. MGM ranked 86th and was the only casino company on the list. The rankings are based on a survey of 4,000 MBA students.

    • Chromcraft Revington renewed a three-year lease at the Winter Las Vegas Market. The company has shown at the market for eight years. Also, the North American Home Furnishings Association signed a lease for a 16,500-square-foot showroom for Summer Las Vegas Market. NAHFA will present 17 seminars this year, including a new business resources program.

    • WestCare, a human services and behavioral health nonprofit group, expanded its veterans’ services to include care for patients with post-traumatic stress, brain injuries, sexual trauma, anxiety and depression.

    • Nevada Public Radio’s “State of Nevada” program won a Gabriel Award, which recognize excellence in broadcasting and are sponsored by the Catholic Academy for Communications Arts Professionals.
