The Bennett Family Foundation and the Engelstad Family Foundation, both mutually invested in ending childhood hunger, have pledged $1 million toward Three Square Food Bank. Every dollar raised is specifically designated as matching funds, calling on corporations, foundations and individuals to come together to meet the full amount.
Village Square held its inaugural Arts & Eats that featured art from 20 original artists, live musical performances and a tasting menu from eight participating Village Square restaurants. The benefit raised $1,500 for Three Square Food Bank.
The Engelstad Family Foundation announced a three-year commitment to Communities In Schools of Nevada for a total donation of $1 million. Communities In Schools of Nevada is the local affiliate of the nation’s leading dropout prevention organization and Nevada’s most effective intervention program. CIS of Nevada supports nearly 25,000 students over 40 school sites in Southern Nevada and Northeastern Nevada. This funding will give CISN the capability to expand its services to five additional schools in Nevada.
The Vegas Valley Mustangs raised more than $3,000 for Catholic Charities’ Social Services programs at a car show at the Henderson Heritage Parade and Festival commemorating the City of Henderson’s 60th Anniversary.
Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation received a $1,000 donation from the Riviera Employee Foundation. Funds from this donation will support the educational programs and services offered to blind and visually impaired children in the Las Vegas community.
Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada received a $2.25 million dollar grant from the Engelstad Family Foundation. The foundation gives grants to nonprofits and organizations throughout the valley, from supporting those with disabilities to providing educational scholarships.
