Celebrity chef Michael Mina announced plans for a Parisian-style brasserie to take the place of his seafood restaurant, American Fish at Aria.
Also around town, a hot dog cart’s owners have expanded into a bricks-and-mortar space downtown, and a neighborhood bar is heading south.

American Fish/Bardot Brasserie
American Fish, a seafood restaurant at Aria, shuttered June 30.
The lodge-themed dining spot will be replaced by another concept from owner and celebrity chef Michael Mina. Bardot Brasserie, a Parisian restaurant, is expected to debut in winter.
The space will take its inspiration from early French film noirs, and the menu will include a signature burger with dry-aged steak, Comte cheese, caramelized onions and a bordelaise sauce.

Cheffini’s
Cheffini’s, a specialty hot dog restaurant, opened mid-June.
The 640-square-foot eatery at the Downtown Container Park is an expansion by the owners of the Cheffini’s mobile cart.
The restaurant will serve up favorites from the cart such as the Classic Cheffini’s with onions, jalapenos, mozzarella, crushed potato chips and pineapple sauce. New menu additions include turkey and vegan options.
Cheffini’s is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

Grass Roots Juice Bar
Grass Roots Juice Bar opened to the public June 18.
The 386-square-foot shop within the John E. Carson building offers juices, smoothies, soups, whole food bowls and ice cream.
Located at 124 S. 6th Street, Unit 160, Las Vegas, some of the eatery’s organic produce comes from local and regional farms.
Grass Roots is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Distill
Distill, the bar that opened on the west side this year near the 215 Beltway and Charleston Boulevard, is branching out.
The new location in the Southern Highlands area, at 4830 W. Pyle Ave., Las Vegas, will offer the same neighborhood hangout environment with cocktails including a house-infused coffee whiskey.
The 24-hour menu will offer avocado egg rolls and roasted bourbon barbecue chicken, and the location will feature 15 LCD gaming machines.
Distill will be open all day every day starting July 19.

Shoe Palace
Retailer Shoe Palace opened a location in late May at Planet Hollywood.
The athletic footwear and apparel chain has locations in California, Nevada, Texas and Arizona, according to its website.
Shoe Palace at Planet Hollywood is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 10 a.m. to midnight Friday through Saturday.
