Wynn Resorts unveiled a new tower design for its planned Massachusetts casino today, and it should look familiar to anyone who’s seen the Wynn or Encore in Las Vegas.

Massachusetts gaming regulators awarded the Boston-area casino license to Wynn’s $1.6 billion project last year, but they requested additional designs for the tower at the time.

Today’s redesign from Wynn shows a curved building outfitted with the company’s iconic bronze glass.

“The era of the grand hotel — the big, wonderful places that one would stop to visit — has been over. But now, in this great part of Massachusetts, we are bringing it back in spectacular fashion,” CEO Steve Wynn said in a statement about the new design. “People will come here to have fun and experience grandeur; to eat, shop, vacation and live large and hopefully forget about the rigors of life for a while.”

The chairman of Massachusetts’ gambling commission said the redesign is a “vast improvement” over what Wynn first proposed, according to the Boston Globe.

If built according to the new plan, the tower will closely resemble Wynn’s properties in Las Vegas. It will also more closely resemble the Wynn Macau.

Wynn’s Everett, Mass., casino is supposed to be built on a former chemical plant site along the Mystic River. The company says it will generate more than $260 million in annual tax revenue for Massachusetts, in addition to more than 4,000 permanent jobs.

The project already has survived a state ballot measure that would have banned casinos, but it continues to face steep opposition. Earlier this month, the city of Boston declined to accept a $1 million payment from Wynn to offset the casino’s impact on the area. The rejection came after Boston filed a suit against the state gambling commission attempting to block Wynn’s casino unless residents of the city’s Charlestown neighborhood could vote on it.

Additionally, the casino company Mohegan Sun joined a lawsuit trying to vacate the gambling commission’s selection of Wynn. The commission chose Wynn over Mohegan Sun for the Boston area casino license.
