Downtown Summerlin continues growing; Pizza Rock opens at Green Valley Ranch

Pizza Rock’s Tomato Pie, and the rest of this Downtown restaurant’s incredible menu, is coming soon to Green Valley Ranch Resort.

This month, two local favorites opened new restaurants in the valley.

Meanwhile, Downtown Summerlin continues to expand with a new restaurant and a weekend farmers market.

    • Pizza Rock

      Pizza Rock opened a second Nevada location this month in Green Valley Ranch Resort.

      That means locals can enjoy 11 gourmet pizzas and 40 beers on tap without struggling through traffic downtown.

      Pizza Rock is open Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight, and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.

      The new store created 22 jobs, according to the company.

      Gelato Messina

      Earlier this month, Gelato Messina, an Australian chain, opened their first US location in Downtown Summerlin, according to a media release.

      The store makes gelato and sorbet fresh daily in more 40 different flavors. It will also offer nine different gelato cakes, according to the release.

      Gelato Messina is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

    • Justin and Joe Micatrotto Jr. of Micatrotto Restaurant Group own five Raising Cane's in Las Vegas.

      Raising Cane's

      Raising Cane’s held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday to celebrate their new North Las Vegas location at 1950 E. Craig Road, according to a news release.

      All of Friday's proceeds will be donated to the Make a Wish Foundation.

    • Summerlin Farmers Market

      A new farmers market has come to Downtown Summerlin.

      The market will be held Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pavilion, between Rosemary Park Drive and Charleston Boulevard.
