City-operated online retail store will sell Las Vegas apparel

Las Vegas launched an online retail shop to sell city-themed items.

Looking to further capitalize off its world famous name, the city of Las Vegas today launched an online retail store.

The Vegas Store features various items with the city’s vintage logo, which was unveiled in October.

The initial launch features apparel items like T-Shirts and hats, to accessories like a stainless-steel bottle, a decorative pin and a stainless-steel mug. The items range from $6.95 for the pin, up to $22.95 for a women’s t-shirt.

“Today’s launch will showcase some key items… sort of a sneak peek into what we are going to offer on the site when it is more robust,” said Sean Ono, co-owner of Eagle Promotions. “You can place orders for some of our selections starting Tuesday and will receive the items shortly after the July 4th holiday. At that point, we will be fully operational and plan to add new exciting items all the time.”

Like other major cities such as New York and Boston, people often buy items with city branding.

The store was developed in partnership with Eagle Promotions, a local minority-owned and operated custom retail design company.

As part of the pilot project, a structured revenue share system was created with Eagle Design Group. The city will earn 20 percent of all sales, with the Eagle Design Group providing all the merchandise, filling the online orders and shipping the merchandise.

As the store progresses the city plans to offer a wider variety of items including toy fire trucks and street sweepers, flotations devices and soccer balls, among other items. Additionally, the city holds the trademark for Fremont East, the Las Vegas Medical District, the city’s fire department crest and Symphony Park.
